With a big bend on philosophy, I am at heart an Existentialist, trusting that us humans are in charge of our destiny, deeply experiencing the torment of responsibility and the burden of freedom, all the while fearing our own finitude and yearning for a sense of meaning.
Therefore, in my work I don’t blindly or rigidly apply any of the theoretical knowledge I’ve learned through my trainings (not even Existentialism). I pick and choose the tools and modules that I see best fit to serve a client, and also encourage the client to participate in the selections as well. Each and every psychotherapy session is a real, lived experience of both the client and myself. We go with the discomfort sometimes, with the progress or setbacks, the ups and downs, the epiphanies and confusion, but together we keep at it until we achieve what we set out to do.
